The idea

Catsinook began as a place to keep characters that did not belong anywhere else: hardworking ghosts, anxious animals, crooked holiday decorations, and creatures caught halfway through a questionable decision.

Rather than follow one fixed subject, the archive follows a feeling—cozy enough to feel familiar, strange enough to invite a second look.

The visual language

Warm autumn oranges meet deep forest greens, softened paper tones, imperfect outlines, and faces that say more than a polished expression could. Texture and small irregularities remain visible because they are part of each character’s personality.

The process

A piece usually starts with a loose sentence or an imagined situation. Characters are sketched until their posture tells the story, then color and texture are built around the mood.

The final question is always the same: does this feel like someone you might meet after dark? If it does, the piece earns a place in the paper archive.

The night crew

Cone Ghost watches for trouble, Leaf Ghost gathers seasonal evidence, and Steam Ghost keeps the workshop moving. They are recurring characters, informal guides, and a reminder not to take the work—or ourselves—too seriously.
